What we keep
- Your phone number (or, if you have a WhatsApp username, the ID WhatsApp sends us and a contact number you give us), the patient's name and age, the problem in your words, and the area or the location you send — rounded to about a hundred metres.
- The text of the conversation, deleted after 90 days.
- We do not sell data, or use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- The doctor you choose: first name, age, the problem and the area. Your number reaches them only after they accept.
- The Mawid team, to follow up your request.
- Google, when the automated assistant is on: it reads the text of your message, without your phone number.

Common questions
Does Mawid charge me?
No. It's free for patients. The consultation fee is paid to the doctor at the clinic, as usual.
Is booking through Mawid instant?
Not always. We ask the doctor you chose and wait for their answer, and come back to you when they accept. If they can't, you choose another. If the doctor subscribes to Mawid, you pick from their free times and it is booked on the spot.
Is it available where I live?
In Iraq and neighbouring countries, wherever we have doctors listed. You can write from anywhere, and if we have nobody near you we say so plainly.
I'm a doctor — how do I join?
From the “Join as a doctor” page, with a message from your number. And if you find your name in Mawid's directory and don't want requests, write “إيقاف” to any message from us.
