Direct answers, including the awkward questions
If your question is not here, message us on WhatsApp. We reply within one working day, usually sooner.
Getting started
Does the patient need to install an app?
No. The patient only uses WhatsApp, which is already on his phone. There is no patient app in Mawid and no plan to build one.
Can we use our existing clinic WhatsApp number?
Usually yes, provided it is not tied to a normal WhatsApp app on a phone. We check this with you during the demo. Many clinics prefer a dedicated number for the system and keep the old one for calls.
How long does it take to go live?
Setup inside the system takes a day. The real wait is Meta's approval of the WhatsApp Business account — days to weeks, outside our control. We start the process as soon as we sign and work on a test number meanwhile.
Is it fully Arabic?
Yes — Arabic-first and right-to-left on every screen, with an English option. Every time is shown in your clinic's own time zone, and the week starts on the day it starts in your country.
Day to day
What if a patient replies with something other than a number?
His message goes to the inbox for a human to read. The system does not interpret free text or guess intent. That is a deliberate design decision.
Can the system cancel or move an appointment?
Not on its own. A visit is cancelled in only two ways: the patient replies 2 to a reminder, or reception cancels it. Moving a visit always stays with reception — even a patient who replies 3 keeps their slot until a person arranges a new time. The booking assistant only ever creates appointments; it never touches an existing one.
What happens if a reminder fails to send?
The system retries automatically. If it keeps failing — a wrong number, say — it appears in the message log with a clear reason and the patient's name, so someone can call.
Is our data shared with other clinics?
No. Each clinic's data is isolated, proved by an automated test that runs with every update. Details in the privacy policy.
Pricing
What decides the plan?
The number of practitioners and the message volume, not the number of patients.
Are prices negotiable?
The setup fee is not. The monthly subscription we will discuss if your clinic is larger than the third plan.
Why does it cost more than some clinic-management software?
Because the price includes things usually charged separately: the WhatsApp messages themselves (Meta charges per message), setup and training that we do for you, and a team that answers on WhatsApp. Before you compare, ask any other offer: are messages included, and who does the setup?
Is there a free trial?
Instead of a trial, early clinics get free setup and a free first month. You see the system running in your clinic, and your first real number, before you pay anything.
Do you accept cash?
Yes.
Do I need a new number?
A dedicated number is cleaner, but your existing clinic number can work if it is not tied to a normal WhatsApp app on a phone.
How long does approval take?
Days to weeks. Meta verifies your business identity first. We start the process on day one and demo the system on a test number until approval lands.
What do messages cost?
Included in your plan. Meta prices by conversation category and country, plans include a monthly allowance, and anything over it is billed at Meta's price plus a small margin, itemised on your invoice.
About Mawid
Is this a clinic management system?
No, deliberately. No medical records, no invoicing, no insurance, no inventory. Mawid solves one problem: lost appointments. If you need a full administrative system, we will tell you so on the first call.
How many clinics use it?
Mawid is at the first-clinics stage and we are open about that. The product is complete and tested, but the customer list is still being built. That is why the early-clinics offer is as generous as it is, and why you will get personal time from our team that will not be available later.
Is Mawid a patient booking app?
No. Mawid is not a doctor directory or a platform where patients search for a clinic, and it is unrelated to booking apps with similar names. It is your clinic's own tool: reception books on it, and messages reach the patient in your clinic's name.
Who is behind Mawid?
The Photonect studio — media production, AI solutions and brand identity, nine years of work and more than fifty brands. Mawid is our own product for clinics.
Show us your no-show rate, and we will show you what can be recovered
A 30-minute live demo at your clinic or online. Your receptionist books a visit on the system and the confirmation lands on your phone while we are still in the meeting.
